Intro

A determined and driven individual, Katie achieved her level 4 AAT qualification at night school whilst working full time at Joseph Miller & Company Chartered Accountants. Balancing work and education has been a recurring theme for Katie as she initially completed her level 2 at Kendal College whilst holding down a demanding job at a Hotel in Ambleside. Katie's work within the hospitality sector provided solid foundations in customer care and an insight into the running of a successful and profitable business.

Professional Experience

Katie commenced her accountancy career at a Newcastle based accountancy firm where she executed a wide range of financial tasks, including compiling company and management accounts, book-keeping and completing VAT returns. Katie then moved to Parkdean Resorts as a Tax Assistant. This move enabled Katie to combine her accountancy knowledge with her experience in the Hotel and Leisure Industry. 

In December 2018, Katie joined BW Medical Accountants as a Medical Services Accountant and joined our in-house training programme.

Expertise

As an Assistant Accountant, Katie prepares accounts for a portfolio of GP and Dental Practices and reports to a team of Medical Accounts Managers.

Being actively involved a a full time employee in an accountancy practice for the last two years of my study provided me with an insight into many areas of accountancy. With my work experience to date, I now feel I am in the perfect position to pursue a career in the area I most enjoy.
